Hey! I’m Amber, the brain behind These Darling Dysons. I’m a happily married mom of four amazing kiddos! My husband, Isaac, and I have been married for thirteen years but together for fifteen. We met at church and it didn’t take long for me to know he was my forever guy.
We had our oldest daughter, Chloe, in 2008. She is now 11 years old, and is our creative thinker. She loves to design things, make short films, draw and write stories, and has an entrepreneurial spirit. Scarlett came early 2011 and is 9 years old. She is our little mama! She loves taking care of her little brothers; she loves music; and she loves pampering herself and being organized. 2015 brought us our first son, Finnley, or Finn for short. Finn was born at home, (a planned home birth after two hospital births), peacefully in a birth pool in our dining room. He was my easiest baby! Finn is a mama’s boy- and a BOY he is! He loves all things with wheels and/or an engine; he loves dirt and bugs; he loves guns and swords! His current obsession is Indiana Jones. Asher is our newest and last child. He joined our family (another successful home birth) in July 2018. He is definitely our most challenging kid yet, but life wouldn’t feel complete without him! His personality shines. He is a very active boy!
I grew up in small town Indiana. I am a product of divorce, so the family dynamic has always been different for me. I have two brothers and one sister and super awesome parents who do anything for me! Isaac also has two brothers and one sister and works for his family business. My kids are very blessed in the grandparent and aunt/uncle department.
I did not always want to homeschool my children, but I compromised early on and gave it a shot. Now, I cannot imagine our life any other way. The flexibility and freedom of deciding what and when and how to teach your children is amazing. It’s not always rainbows and sunshine, but we love our life and try to make the most of it!
I very much enjoy traveling. I have been to over 35 US states, Jamaica, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, and France. It is my dream to acquire less things and more life experiences! I love pop culture- music, movies, books, etc. I love art and history. I love chai lattes and chocolate. I love throwing themed parties. I love our nightly family time of sitting down in front of the tv with a movie or tv show. I love color! And I’m like one of those birds that find the shiniest, most colorful item for their nest- if it sparkles or shines, I’m in a trance. 😉
This blog is designed to be an outlet, but also a resource- for myself, and for other moms! I want to create a community for mom life- family activities, travel inspiration, homeschooling resources, and all things motherhood!
